2-zone painting with inscribed architectural background (domes of Orthodox churches and monasteries). In the upper zone on the clouds the Mother of God - intercessor and protector of mankind - against the background of a mandorla, with a veil in her hands. Behind her a group of saints. On the left in the clouds Christ blessing, with a closed book. In the lower zone - the central figure is St. Roman Melodos - the Sweet-Smith (d. 555) - the author of hymns (cantakions) in honor of Mary. Other figures include the imperial couple - Leo and Zoe, and St. Andrew Yurodiwy - the Madman of God with his disciple Epiphanius. The icon's border is smooth, cream and beige, framed by a green and red stripe.
