Biennais was one of the greatest French goldsmiths and jewelers of the Napoleonic era. He was the creator of many great creations, including Napoleon I's coronation insignia and an impressive tea service made for Napoleon's wedding to Marie Louise. His clients also included the Czar of Russia and the King of Bavaria (coronation insignia) and representatives of European aristocracy, including the Branicki family (tableware).
