Rosenthal AG, Selb (Bavaria), Branch Plant Bahnhof -Selb (Kunstabteilung), pre-war model by Hugo Meisel, realization - mid-20th century.
On an elongated, rectangular, base, the figure of a Negro waiter, in a white loose costume and turban, serving a turkey on a tray supported by an arm. Sculptor and modeler Hugo Meisel (1887-1966) worked with the Bahnhof-Selb factory between 1737 and 1745; the figurine is a repetition - a reference to the artist's earlier designs from the period of his collaboration with Volkstedt and Schwarzenburger Werkstätten für Porzellankunst in Unterweissbach.
