Cover: signed in the lower part of the robe of the Mother of God and on the nimbus on the left side: the city guild of Moscow (St. George); procurer ( Cyrillic letters) and date 1878 -Alexander Stakheevich Kudrin (active in 1878-1882); goldsmith - Ivan Semyonovich Gubkin (active from 1841 to 1867, company until 1880; in 1855 obtained the title of court supplier from Tsar Nicholas I.).
The icon represents the Eleus - Umileniye type: Mary, holding Jesus on her right hand, who is hugging her face and gazing at her. The wrap has a geometric border, topped with an arch, with bouquets of flowers in the upper corners.
