Russia, Moscow, icon of the 2nd half of the 20th century. - "added" to a 19th/20th century cover being the work of goldsmith Ivan Alekseevich Alekseev ( Cyrillic monogram: "?. A.A.") active 1876-1912.
On the lower edge of the cover partially obliterated marks of the master with the title of the court supplier - Pavel Ovchinnikov.
Two-zone representation: in the upper part - the Mother of God - the Advocate with a retinue of Saints - kneels before Christ in the clouds - spreading the veil held in her hands. In the lower part - the figure of St. Roman the Sweet (the author of hymns - kontakions in honor of Mary) and the imperial couple Leo and Zoe accompanying him, as well as St. Andrew Yurodev with his disciple Epiphanius.
Icon's cloth signed in three places of the central part and in the lower edge of the basma - bordiure. On the bordure there are motifs of grapevine, and in the corners there are stylized flower bouquets covered with cellular enamel in sapphire, blue and yellow.
