metal alloy hallmarked (turret in circle /WMF/IKORA/GERMANY), enamel, gilt; diameter 26.5 cm.
Germany, Geislingen, 2nd quarter of the 20th century. (after 1935)
Supported on three legs, in the form of a circular bowl, with a very wide, bifurcated collar decorated, radially spreading from the interior of the vessel, with black enamel and gilt stripes, on a matted, rubbed background.
In 1928, the factory's existing Neue Kunstgewerbliche Abteilung department introduced a new line of metalware called Ikora Edelmetall characterized by modern form and unconventional methods of surface decoration - matting, rubbing, brushing, and coating with low-temperature enamels.
Similarly decorated items (including platters, vases) were presented in the company's 1936 catalog.
