sterling silver 1 (950) hallmarked (hallmark of the assay office - head of Minerva with sample, goldsmith's mark - in rhombus); height 14.6 cm, width 16 cm, depth 12.3 cm; weight 579 g.
Paris, late 19th century.
Supported on four volute legs, pear-shaped, spirally ribbed, with a belly decorated with a rooster's crest and a rocaille reserve in which engraved two marriage coats of arms in oval shields under a crown, supported by lions, with the motto VIGILANCIA ET FORTITUDINE (vigilance and fortitude); on the sides two c-shaped rocaille lugs; the lid decorated with a rooster's crest, surmounted by a domed pinnacle
