The figure of a young woman in ancient robes, leaning over an altar in the form of a cannelled column entwined with garland; in her hand she holds a torch; at the foot of the altar squatted a pair of doves intended for sacrifice. In ancient times, doves were dedicated to the goddess Aphrodite (Venus) as a symbol of innocence and love; women offering them to the goddess - asking for happiness and fertility in love and marriage. Signature on the side on the base: "scpt. / Detrier".
