Poland, Pacyków, Aleksander Lewicki's Faience and Terracotta Factory, 20th c. (1920s/30s).
Figural group depicting a seated young woman in a sapphire skirt, with a basket of flowers on her lap and a letter (?) in her hand. Behind the seated woman stands a girl in a floral cap and a pink, flared dress, with a knitting in her hands; she looks over the seated woman's shoulder at the letter she is holding; at the women's feet on the base is a basket with a stick. The narrative sculpture is most likely inspired by ceramic art from Goldscheider's Vienna factory.
