cast bronze, dark patinated, marblite (pedestal); overall dimension: 14 x 9.8 x 9.8 cm, figural group: 12 cm;
on the back, inscription: "Rodin"; on the side in a round medallion: "BRONZE GRANTI PARIS / J. B. DEPOSEE."
France, Paris, reduction casting 2nd quarter of 20th century.
The sculpture "The Kiss" ("Le Baiser"), was made by A. Rodin in marble (1888-1889), and is currently on display at the Rodin Museum in Paris. Popularized in a huge number of repetitions made in bronze.
