France ?, 19th-20th century.
A winged idol of love leans over a half-naked, reclining female figure shrouded in a draped robe, extending her arms toward him. One of the many replicas of Canova's famous classicist sculptural group. Also known as "Psyche Aroused by Cupid's Kiss," the sculpture was created in 1787. The marble original is in the Louvre, and two known copies are also on display at the Hermitage and the Museum of Art in New York.
