The depiction of a nude model seated in a painter's atelier is part of the trend of studio paintings represented in large numbers at the 2010 jubilee exhibition "Wojciech Weiss at the Academy of Fine Arts." This painting is a thoroughly modern work, painted impasto, with great freedom. The composition is interestingly constructed. It would seem at first glance that it is random, but there is symmetry here, broken by a colorful bouquet of flowers, which with their intense red attract the eye. Next to the vase we see a porcelain vessel of turquoise color. We know them from numerous Weissian nudes. Here, together with the vase of flowers, it forms a modern still life, seemingly anticipating the work of Zygmunt Menkes.
