Simon Glücklich - was born in Bielsko (now Bielsko-Biala) in Austrian Silesia. In 1880-1890 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, and from 1917 lived and worked in Munich. In 1905 he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Munich International Art Exhibition. He was the author of landscapes, still lifes, genre scenes, mythological scenes (including the monumental painting "Geniuses and Muses" - now the Music House in Bielsko-Biala). In the last period of his career, he painted mainly portraits and nudes, mainly of the nobility and high bourgeoisie.
