The works of Sichulski - an Lviv artist, a student of the Lviv Academy of Fine Arts, schools in Vienna, Munich and Paris - include numerous genre scenes. Among other things, "frequent [among them] is the motif, recurring in a modified approach - with two or three horses..." (E. Houszka). In the collection of the National Museum in Wroclaw there is another, larger version of the theme, "Scurrying Horses," painted in 1911.
