Hodegetria-type image: the Mother of God in half pose, with the Infant on her left, to whom Mary points with a gesture of her right hand, presenting Him as Emmanuel - the Savior and the Way to the Father. The three stars on the maforion of the Mother of God indicate her virginity - before, during and after the birth of her Son. Above Mary's nimbus a Greek monogram denoting the Mother of God. On the left - in Cyrillic - the inscription: "Tikhvinskaya". The bordure is smooth, ochre.
