Western Europe, 4th quarter of 19th century.
Composed of three chairs and a table, carved, gilded, painted. Chairs with low backs, whose side frames are finished with volutes, upholstered on seats and back cushions, supported on four tapering legs, cannelled. The table is decorative, with a round top composed of a richly carved and molded wide frame, filled with a porcelain painted plate, supported by three columns painted in dark green with gilded scrolls and volutes, placed on a three-sided gilded platform and the same three volutes. On the plate painted scene of "Rapture - Ecstasy" (described Entflohen), depicting two seated young women in airy robes against the background of a garden, gazing into the distance and pointing in front of them with raised hands to something that flew away in front of them... The scene framed on the rim, decorated with gold-painted delicate geometric-floral ornaments; the scene on the rim signed Seler.
A set of very decorative eclectic furniture in the Second Empire style, after restoration.
