In an openwork case of gilded bronze; in the center a tin with the clock mechanism, framed by swirling acanthus leaves; the sides decorated with a regency grille motif, in the asymmetrical finial elements of a garden balustrade and acanthus; the dial enameled, slightly convex, with Roman hour division and Arabic minute division; at the top a slightly obliterated inscription: "RICHO[U]D", at bottom: "PARIS"; the glass is convex, in a brass frame; at the back, a circular door of brass plate, covers the mechanism beating the hours and half-hours; on the plate, markings: in a circle, the inscription "VINCENTI" and in the rim, "MEDAILLE D'ARGENT 1855"; also: "H & F / PARIS".
