Clear glass, gold; height 8.3 cm.
Tapio VIRKKALA (1915-1985) - design;
Italy, Venice - Murano, circa mid-1960s.
Egg of thick, transparent, colorless glass; yolk inside with fused gold flakes. Signature on the bottom: "venini / italia".
Tapio Wirkkala - artist from Finland, sculptor, known for his designed vodka bottles, glasses, ashtrays, salad bowls and vases, usually made of so-called "frosted" glass.
The Venini factory specializes mainly in beautiful, original lamps and chandeliers.
