France, Limoges, La Porcelaine Theodore Haviland factory (founded 1893, since 1931 - taken over by Haviland & Co. and Emil Bourgeois' Porcelain, Ceramics and Glass Warehouse/General Store in Paris), early 20th century.
The luxury porcelain of the well-known Limoges manufacturer was commissioned - along with heraldic decoration - through Emil Bourgeois' specialized Porcelain, Faience and Crystal Warehouse, which he ran in Paris (later with a branch in Marseille) from 1848 until the founder's death (1926).
The plates are shallow, with a wavy 6-part collar, with a trail of gold ornament with vines on a cobalt border around the rim and a gold trail of leafy palmettoes below. In the mirror, a pair of coats of arms under the count's crown; the first coat of arms has in fields I and IV the coat of arms of Glaubicz, in fields II and III the coat of arms of Janina, in the heart shield the imperial eagle; the second coat of arms is French from Napoleon's grant;
Preservation condition: on two plates a small brush, a crack in the collar of one plate, a scratch on the black part of the coat of arms shield on one plate.
