porcelain, enamel paints, gilding, light rubbing of gilding;
cup: height (with handle) 12 cm, diameter 6.3 cm; saucer: height 2.8 cm, diameter 16.5 cm; not signed.
France , ca. 1830-1840.
Cylindrical cup on 3 lion's feet, with high pastoral appendage and slightly flared rim. In the rectangular reserve at the front a colorful miniature: two arm-covered (praying?) women, standing at a pedestal with a balustrade leading to a staircase. On the sides of the miniature and around the collar of the saucer a trail of decorative gold lattice with a motif of a blue and gold rosette inscribed in fields. The interior of the cup, legs, ear and edges gilded. Elegant form and careful decoration.
