A pair of Satsuma type vases

porcelain, cobalt, glazed and enamel paints, gilding (some slightly raised);
gilding slightly rubbed, chipped at base of one vase;
height 16.5 cm; signed on bottom (both) with ideogram painted in gold on black glazed rectangle (one signature heavily rubbed).

Ovoid vases with short bifurcated necks. In two trapezoidal reserves, separated on cobalt bellies, careful decoration with colorful genre miniatures : 1)playing in the garden - two Japanese women and a child, 2) two couples and two playing children in a garden scene. On the cobalt parts around the necks, bases and on the slats separating the reserves - gilding with Far Eastern ornamental motifs, floral and small flowers, completed in color.
